The evaluation of adaptive systems is a neglected topic. However, there are a few articles that illuminate the theory of evaluation, as well as several empirical studies that might serve as example. Those who have no experience with empirical research in general might want to have a look at the list of book and articles on study design and statistical analysis. Several scientific workshops on empirical evaluation took place so far.
